About

Rexanne Chadwick is a self-taught artist who has been drawing since her childhood. Early on she discovered a love for charcoal and has been developing her realistic techniques in the medium ever since. Her art and methods of drawing have been featured in numerous publications including Drawing Board, InformArt Magazine, and twice in The Artist's Magazine, one of which showcased her drawings as a cover story. North Light Books selected her art for publication in Art Journey: Portraits and Figures and Strokes of Genius: The Best of Drawing, Books 5 and 9. The Art Renewal Center (ARC) chose her art as one of its competition winners for inclusion in the 12th International ARC Salon Catalogue.

"My art expresses my passion for drawing and attention to detail. I work exclusively in charcoal due to the wide range of gray tones it can achieve and its versatility when using a variety of drawing tools. I have always felt strongly connected to animals so wildlife and pets are my primary subject matter. My drawings reflect my fascination with the physical structure of all faces as well as the emotional content they can convey. Charcoal is an exciting medium and I never stop learning new ways to enhance its beauty."
